Celebrity-news personality Giuliana Rancic is known for her savvy and stylish reporting at E! Entertainment. Working with co-host Ryan Seacrest, she’s been bringing red-hot celebrity news, inside scoops and on-site interviews from L.A.’s coolest red carpets and biggest names since 2002. But her professional career as an anchor and managing editor of E! News is the just the tip of the iceberg. She is one of Hollywood’s most proficient go-to girls and she means business.
As an “It-List” insider, she has proven herself to be worthy of her own celebrity status. She’s responsible for productions like MTV’s Celebrity Rap Superstar and Nicole Richie: Her Simple Life and was ranked #94 on the Maxim Magazine’s Hot 100 Women in 2004. She currently has her own reality show based on her life with husband, Bill Rancic, titled Giuliana & Bill. The two met while she was interviewing him about his experience winning NBC’s The Apprentice. Their 2007-Italian wedding, Marry Me in Capri, was witness by millions of viewers via the Style Network and was the highest-rated original special of all time.
Giuliana uses her journalist acumen, combined with a captivating TV-presence to prove that she is not just another pretty face. She’s received an education in journalism from University of Maryland and obtains a Masters-degree from American University. Her debut book, Think Like a Guy, inspired one of her first projects under her production company GDP Entertainment, Inc. But it doesn’t stop there; she is presently preparing for an interview with her idol, Queen of Conversation herself, Oprah Winfrey.
When Giuliana isn’t being followed around by a camera lens, she finds inspiration in The Secret, solace in her workspace and makes time to share with her husband. She responds to our own inquisitions, giving Modern Home & Living a sneak peak into where she makes notes on the newsworthy in her California beach home.
MH+L: Describe your first ever experience working in the office.
It was a Sunday morning. My husband and I were both sitting at the desk across from each other on our laptops. We had just moved in and we were both in our robes, answering work emails and watching the Bears game on our flat screen TV on the side wall in the office. Heaven!
MH+L: Have you ever worked in a cubicle?
I used to work in the mailroom of a talent agency, then I moved up to be an assistant to a talent manager. I was a horrible assistant, the manager I worked for is currently my manager. She has also become one of my best friends.
MH+L: If you could switch offices with anyone who would it be and why?
Anna Wintour. I would love to sit in her office at Vogue. She is such a strong business woman, and I would love to be around all that fashion.
MH+L: What song/album is on high-rotation in your office?
Hotel California is one of my favorite songs to sing out loud, I also love Lady GaGa and anything Madonna.
MH+L: Coffee, tea, or red-bull on your desk?
Tea, I have not had a sip of coffee in 3 years. I decided to lean off it because I was so dependent on it, I wake up in the morning and I have more energy.
MH+L: The one thing missing in your office that you are hoping to add?
A copy machine, but I have not found one that is not an eye sore. They are so clunky.
