Poised at the center of the Hollywood action, E! News reporter Ashlan Gorse is clearly at-ease and in her element on the celebrity scene.  Few would guess at her being so recent a newcomer to L.A., and the west coast in general. The North Carolina native is already a fixture at red-carpet premieres, high-profile events and awards shows, with coverage of the Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes and Grammys already under her belt.  She can also be seen nightly on E! News, divulging the day’s industry highlights and dishing the latest-breaking celebrity news and gossip.

She’s not the typical diminutive, frail-framed female you might expect to see on TV.  Standing at a statuesque six feet tall, she rocks the scene with refreshingly real curves, a radiant smile and long, relaxed golden tresses. With such signature hot girl-next-door appeal, it’s no surprise that FHM magazine featured Gorse’s recent photo spread among its “100 Sexiest Women in the World” issue for 2009.

While Gorse asserts she couldn’t be happier living and working in Los Angeles, she relies on her roots to keep herself grounded. Determined to remain a southern girl through-and-through, she doesn’t take herself too seriously. The trend-savvy TV show host (her 2006 arrival in Los Angeles was as editor-at-large for Life & Style magazine) made certain to bring some North Carolina charm to her home here.

It’s an intriguing fusion of sophistication and whimsy, where high-end style sometimes gives way to girlish fancy. Admittedly an “old school” girl who loves the vintage look of classic pin-ups & the quintessential American blonde bombshell, Gorse incorporates plenty of retro-glamour into her interior design as well.

An understated, nature-inspired paint scheme, along with natural-finished hardwood floors, is carried from room to room. Soothing wall tones, along with light breezes that drift in through classic, white-trimmed French doors, set the living space with an aura of peace and stillness. Rooms are filled with functional, contemporary furnishings and sleek-silhouetted accent pieces, punctuated with spontaneous odds and ends.  

Modern art pieces, mirrored surfaces and quirky chrome-glass lighting fixtures mingle with a selection of quaint eccentricities and personal collections. Elegant in its simplicity, Gorse’s enviable boudoir seems to whisper an air of delicacy befitting a southern belle.  Subtle, earthy wall hues warm the room, while the contrasting bright, white edging of windows and doors is enhanced by an abundance of natural light creating a space as sophisticated and sleek as it is inviting.
