In the world of modern architecture and design, the Fincube sits on a pedestal. Considering the high tech, energy efficient residence is elevated 3 meters off the ground, the term takes a literal meaning. Designers Studio Aisslinger and Josef Innerhof developed the structure in Northern Italy as an eco-friendly option for tourists looking for a room with view.

The Fincube delivers just that with triple glazed windows that cover the entire portico of the home, offering a picture perfect shot of the Dolomite Mountains.Besides the picturesque landscape, the home is an architectural marvel designed in a helical pattern that allows guests to get a grand tour of the entire premises (507 sq ft!) by simply walking up the pedestal.

The building, made entirely of European larch wood can be dismantled and moved to a new site if necessary. The Fincube is also a smart house with all of its domestic functions controlled by a central touch pad and solar system access is available through the roof. This sleek and environmentally friendly home is quickly creating waves in the architectural world, becoming an innovative model for offices and tourist facilities.
